Custodian

About This Role

The Custodian provides comprehensive cleaning services to the Powder Plant, maintaining cleanliness and order in various areas including offices, restrooms, and manufacturing floors. This role ensures the facility is always in 'Tour Ready' condition.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum carpeted floors and floor mats using an industrial vacuum
• Clean cement floors using an industrial floor scrubbing machine
• Sweep, mop, and dust all areas of the building including shipping, manufacturing, and warehouse areas
• Remove all trash from the building and deposit it into receptacles
• Clean and disinfect all restrooms, including urinals, toilets, sinks, stalls, walls, floors, and mirrors
• Clean the lunchroom by sweeping floors and disinfecting tables, chairs, counters, floors, walls, and windows
• Remove refuse from the grounds around the building by sweeping sidewalks, picking up trash, and emptying garbage cans and ash buckets
• Stock the lunchroom with supplies and prepare coffee and hot chocolate machines
• Clean windows inside and outside of the facility using a scissor lift or man lift
• Clean hard-to-reach areas overhead and under equipment, including racks and windows
• Clean offices, including desks, chairs, carpet, and chair mats
• Clean the lobby area, including the mezzanine and observatory windows
• Ensure the building is in "Tour Ready" condition at all times

Requirements

• Ability to work independently
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to perform duties that require walking, stretching, and lifting for the duration of the shift
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to climb stairs
• Ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy
