Custodian

About This Role

Perform custodial and maintenance duties for City of Naples facilities and parks to ensure safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient environments for the public and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide custodial duties to City facilities and parks, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing floor surfaces.
• Clean, dust, and polish furniture, equipment, artwork, fixtures, and various surfaces.
• Clean, deodorize, and disinfect bathrooms, replenish soap and paper products.
• Clean and disinfect water fountains, telephones, and other public facilities.
• Wash and clean windows and blinds.
• Empty trash and recycling containers, replacing liners, and dispose of trash to designated receptacles.
• Maintain building security by turning off lights, office equipment, and operating security alarm systems.
• Operate various equipment and tools such as vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaners, buffing machines, mops, mowers, and blowers.
• Utilize precautionary safety equipment and monitor the work environment for safety.
• Monitor inventory levels of equipment, tools, and supplies, initiating requests for new materials.
• Prepare or complete various forms, reports, and time sheets.
• Communicate via telephone and/or two-way radio, providing information and assistance.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience
• Valid Florida driver license, class "E" with a satisfactory driving record.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; supplemented by some related previous experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job
