About This Role

This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and order of assigned areas within Black Hawk College, utilizing various cleaning machines and equipment. The position plays a key part in ensuring the College's facilities are well-maintained for students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Keep assigned areas neat and clean, including vacuuming, dusting, scrubbing, and reconditioning all carpeted and hard surface floors
• Dust, polish, and vacuum all furniture, doors, and walls
• Wash light fixtures and windows
• Empty all waste and recycling containers and transport them to proper disposal areas
• Assist in special events setup and teardown
• Contribute to the security of all College property on assigned shifts

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Six months of previous experience operating and maintaining machines (e.g. floor scrubber, buffer) and keeping them cleaned
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Physically capable of completing major responsibilities
• Ability to read and write English
• Dependable and punctual

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Six months of previous experience operating and maintaining machines inherent to the job (e.g., floor scrubber, buffer) required, along with six months of similar work assignments desired.
