Culinary Associate

About This Role

This role involves serving and preparing food for various hospital sectors including retail, patients, and catering. Key tasks include managing diet orders, handling deliveries, rotating inventory, and ensuring food safety and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Serve and prepare food for retail, patients, Breastfeeding Mothers (BFM), Guest Trays and catering
• Receive diet orders and assemble special diets, checking with Diet Assistant or Registered Dietitian as needed
• Receive deliveries, transport food carts/products, and put away stock
• Fill orders for nourishment stations
• Rotate inventories
• Process monies/charges for food items sold in retail
• Work as part of a team, assisting co-workers to improve workflow and customer service
• Follow Health Department guidelines for safe food handling and sanitation
• Prepare baby formulas, tube feedings, and fortify breastmilk as ordered at Beeghly Campus in MV (may apply)
• Organize and process diet orders, performing clerical functions
• Deliver patient trays/carts/catering food/nourishments
• Prepare food items using standardized recipes and portion control guidelines
• Follow standards of sanitation and safety in food handling according to HACCP guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area
• Receive and store deliveries
• Fill in to support other Support Services areas as needed to ensure operational efficiency

Requirements

• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant experience preferred
