About This Role

As a Cook, you will prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes, using fresh ingredients and various cooking methods. You will set up workstations, safely use kitchen equipment, and maintain a positive demeanor while adhering to food safety and sanitation policies.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
• Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
• Safely use a variety of utensils including knives
• Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
• Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use various cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
• Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
• Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
• Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers
• Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
• Ensure security of company assets

Requirements

• Experience as a cook or in a related role
• Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations
• Ability to acquire food safety certification
• Basic math and counting skills
• Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
