About This Role

Prepare and serve high-quality meals for residents, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met, and contributing to a positive dining experience. This role supports the health and well-being of residents within a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare fresh scratch-made meals using recipes for residents according to planned menus and dietary guidelines
  • Assist the Food Service Manager with inventory control and ordering supplies
  • Properly store food and kitchen supplies to maintain freshness and prevent waste
  • Supervise and support Dietary staff when the Food Service Manager is unavailable
  • Set up breakfast bars, steam tables, and other meal service stations
  • Maintain cleanliness in work areas and ensure all kitchen cleaning tasks are completed
  • Prepare and stock snacks and standard pantry items for resident areas
  • Utilize technology and computerized systems to efficiently and safely create dining experiences

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED/HSE preferred
  • Minimum of 1-2 years similar cooking experience preferred
