About This Role

The Cook will prepare a variety of foods according to production guidelines and standardized recipes, while maintaining food safety standards and excellent customer service. This role involves setting up workstations, using kitchen equipment, and arranging food for presentation.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
• Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
• Safely use a variety of utensils including knives
• Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
• Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
• Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
• Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
• Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures, including accurate food safety and sanitation
• Ensure security of company assets

Requirements

• Experience as a cook or in a related role
• Knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations
• Ability to acquire food safety certification
• Basic math and counting skills
• Interpersonal communication skills, written and verbal
