Controller

About This Role

As a Controller, you will take ownership of financial reporting for a diverse client portfolio, ensuring GAAP and regulatory compliance. You will provide actionable insights to management teams, boards, and investors, while also leading and mentoring accounting teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, including non-GAAP KPIs
• Explain financial results, detailing account components and variances
• Serve as GAAP Accounting Subject Matter Expert
• Ensure client compliance with accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with external experts for tax, sales tax, reporting, and payroll compliance
• Contribute to continuous improvement of technology systems
• Manage client relationships and ensure excellent client experience
• Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals
• Oversee successful execution of client engagements, meeting deadlines and budget
• Support scheduling and resource allocation to meet client demands

Requirements

• Experience in a multi-client environment
• Deep accounting experience within multiple industries
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage a team to hit deadlines
• Experience as lead accountant in rapidly growing firm(s)
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Controller

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Controller, 2+ years of audit work as an auditor in CPA firm

Nice to Have

• Master’s in Accounting
• CPA license
