Commercial HVAC Service Technician

About This Role

Perform service and maintenance tasks on commercial and industrial HVAC equipment, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing various complex heating and cooling systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting tasks safely in commercial and industrial settings
• Perform preventative maintenance and repair of commercial HVAC equipment as needed
• Diagnose causes of breakdowns, test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs to equipment and associated components
• Service, diagnose and troubleshoot various types of split systems, packaged rooftop, rooftop units, heat pumps, DX systems, pneumatic, electrical control systems, and other mechanical equipment
• Use HVAC skills and experience to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain medium to large sized complex heating and cooling systems and associated control systems
• Complete required electronic documentation daily on a handheld device
• Work independently, and as part of a team, to complete assigned tasks within an allotted time frame
• Operate company vehicle to complete service calls in a specified territory

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience or more repairing and troubleshooting commercial HVAC/R equipment
• EPA universal certification
• Mechanical aptitude
• Mathematical and English language skills
• Proficiency with electrical and mechanical diagnostics
• Familiarity with blueprint, schematic, drawings, and other equipment layout materials
• Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening
• Ability to pass MVR check
• Ability to pass a physical ability test

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience or more repairing and troubleshooting commercial HVAC/R equipment

Nice to Have

• NATE certification
• Experience with RTU, air handlers, split systems, chilled water, or boiler systems
• OSHA 10 certification
