Join our team as an experienced HVAC Commercial Service Technician in Cincinnati, OH, where you will service, maintain, and repair HVAC systems and equipment of 50 tons and above, including boilers, rooftop units, and control systems. You will ensure efficient system operation for our customers while delivering excellent service and identifying potential sales opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and installations for HVAC systems.
- Service, maintain, and repair DX equipment (up to 100 tons), packaged AC units (up to 150 tons), water source heat pumps, and other commercial HVAC systems.
- Diagnose and repair faulty equipment, including gas-fired and electric heating systems, pneumatic/electronic controls, and air handling systems.
- Start systems, monitor operation, and adjust valves, controls, and pumps to maintain proper fluid, pressure, and temperature levels.
- Perform site evaluations, including troubleshooting and escalating issues to supervisors when necessary.
- Provide startup services for newly installed commercial equipment.
- Complete preventative maintenance services, including cleaning coils, fan belts, and ductwork.
- Maintain communication with dispatchers, check in at the end of the day, and receive next-day assignments.
- Prepare for on-site jobs by reviewing building layouts, coordinating materials, and anticipating challenges.
- Maintain vehicles and equipment, ensuring all are operational and service ready.
- Interact with customers to offer technical support, training, and identify potential sales opportunities.
- Document work progresses, including time, parts, and materials, ensuring all paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of HVAC field experience
- Associate degree or equivalent in HVAC, or related experience
- EPA Universal Technician Certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and more when needed
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions and mechanical rooms
- Ability to stand, kneel, crawl, and climb frequently
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent in HVAC, or related experience.
- Minimum 5 years of HVAC field experience.
