About This Role

Lead and manage commercial banking operations for a region, focusing on sales, business development, and profitability. Represent the bank to achieve strategic goals and ensure outstanding customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the bank throughout the region as a top business leader and financial institution of choice
  • Guide sales and business development efforts, focusing on loan growth, deposit growth, non-interest income growth, and cross-functional referrals
  • Accountable for overall profitability of all markets within the region, including pricing, net interest margin, non-interest income optimization, and operating efficiency
  • Chiefly responsible for overall asset quality for the region, ensuring safety, soundness, and credit culture expectations are met
  • Responsible for cultivating the bank's culture of responsibility, employee recognition, engagement, teamwork, performance management, and professional growth
  • Meet or exceed annual goals aligned with the strategic plan and budgeted ROE, ROA, or other key metrics
  • Direct and manage Lending Officers and other appropriate staff, including hiring, firing, and salary administration
  • Embody and set the tone for exceptional customer experience, including ownership of customer service complaint recovery
  • Support bankers in business development and customer retention activities by leveraging familiarity with profitable customer relationships
  • Cultivate high-level engagement of Local Advisory Boards of Directors as bank ambassadors and sources of new business referrals

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in business-related area or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years banking experience with proven management and leadership skills
  • Experience in commercial banking, retail banking, mortgage, wealth management, and marketing
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to provide work direction, communicate expectations, and manage performance
  • Exhibited capacity to interact constructively and effectively with all constituencies
  • Established ability to develop, communicate, and implement strategic initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in business-related area or equivalent combination education and experience. MBA degree or related graduate level education desirable. Completion of graduate level banking school.
  • A minimum of five or more years banking experience in a role with proven management and leadership skills. Banking experience must include leadership in a combination of commercial banking, retail banking, mortgage, wealth management, and marketing. Previous President Role in a similar sized Bank preferred.
