Serve as a Commercial Banking Area President, Commercial Lender, and Relationship Manager, leading sales and business development efforts in the region, ensuring overall profitability and asset quality, and embodying the bank's culture of responsibility and exceptional customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Represent the bank throughout the region aligned with client aspirations to be the financial institution of choice and a top business leader.
- Guide sales and business development efforts in the region, focusing on loan growth, deposit growth, non-interest income growth, and cross-functional referrals.
- Accountable for overall profitability of all markets, including pricing disciplines, net interest margin management, non-interest income optimization, and operating efficiency.
- Responsible for overall asset quality for the region, holding Commercial Lending Officers accountable for safety & soundness within defined risk parameters.
- Represent the bank's culture of responsibility, emphasizing communication, employee recognition, engagement, teamwork, performance management, and professional growth.
- Meet or exceed annual goals aligned with the strategic plan, budgeted ROE, ROA, or other key metrics.
- Retain key senior team members, minimizing unwanted turnover.
- Manage and be responsible for direct reports, including Lending Officers, for performance and staffing within HR guidelines.
- Embody the aspirational standard for exceptional customer experience and own customer experience recovery within the region.
- Possess acute familiarity with profitable customer relationships and support bankers in business development and retention activities.
- Cultivate high engagement of Local Advisory Board members as ambassadors and sources of new business referrals.
- Participate in strategic planning activities and embrace ownership of appropriate strategic execution priorities.
- Lead by example in alignment with the company's Servant Leadership philosophy.
- Ensure internal and external customers receive outstanding service and adhere to compliance with financial institution laws.
- Keep current on trends and business conditions in banking and market areas, including legal, regulatory, economic, competitive, and technology environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business-related area or equivalent
- 5+ years banking experience with proven management and leadership skills
- Leadership experience in commercial banking, retail banking, mortgage, wealth management, and marketing
- Ability to effectively present information to Boards, President, CEO, managers, employees and clients
- Ability to provide work direction, communicate expectations, manage and appraise performance
- Ability to direct business development activities with personal sales expertise
- Ability to interact constructively and effectively with all constituencies
- Ability to develop, communicate and implement strategic initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business-related area or equivalent combination education and experience. MBA degree or related graduate level education desirable. Completion of graduate level banking school.
- A minimum of five or more years banking experience in a role with proven management and leadership skills. Banking experience must include leadership in a combination of Commercial Banking, Retail Banking, Mortgage, Wealth Management, and Marketing. Previous President Role in a similar sized Bank preferred.
