This Trust Manager role involves leading and coaching a team of Trust Officers and Trust Associates while also administering individual trust accounts. The position focuses on local trust relationship administration, talent development, and ensuring compliance with legal and fiduciary specifications.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coach a team of Trust Officers and Trust Associates, focusing on local trust relationship administration.
- Advance talent and strengthen the efficacy and execution level of assigned team members.
- Direct trust and agency accounts in compliance with legal and fiduciary specifications, coordinating with external investment advisory teams.
- Monitor and construct recommendations for suitable staffing in the local office, ensuring appropriate account loads for Trust Officers.
- Lead, train, and guide team Trust Officers, serving as a resource for problem-solving and resolving client demands and disputes.
- Aid the CTO in enacting organizational decisions that impact the team and office.
- Continue developing technical expertise in trust administration through self-learning, continuing education, and webinars.
- Identify training requirements and conduct necessary training, aligning with firm-wide curricula when applicable.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for designated Trust Officers, presenting them to the CTO for approval.
- Act as the key resource for team Trust Officers and Trust Associates regarding PTO authorization and personnel dealings.
- Execute a proper rhythm for team meetings to discuss administrative and operational affairs.
- Safeguard compliance with firm policies and procedures within the office and supervise adherence to internal and regulatory requirements.
- Approve and supervise direct reports' PTO and guarantee coverage when personnel are out of the office.
Requirements
- Exceptional communication, relationship management, and leadership proficiencies
- Robust expertise of trust administration, fiduciary law, and estate/wealth transfer planning
- Deep historic experience managing a portfolio of complicated accounts, often with a high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth client base
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on risk management
- Capacity to understand complex legal documents and navigate evolving regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related field
- Robust expertise of trust administration, fiduciary law, and estate/wealth transfer planning. Deep historic experience managing a portfolio of complicated accounts, often with a high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth client base.
