CNA/Healthcare Tech - Emergency Department

About This Role

Assist patients with daily living activities, perform clerical work, and maintain a clean environment in the Carolinas Medical Center Emergency Department. This role supports patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Support patients/residents with activities of daily living.
• Assist patients/residents with personal hygiene.
• Take vital signs and height and weight measurements.
• Feed and ambulate patients/residents according to specific procedures.
• Maintain patient/resident's rooms in a clean and orderly condition.
• Observe and report changes in patient/resident conditions.
• Orient patients/families to unit and instruct patient on safety measures.
• Assist with clerical work such as answering phones, entering data, and maintaining medical records.
• Maintain stock supply items in inventory management.
• Perform duties as outlined in the scope of Nurse Aide I or Nurse Aide II tasks.
• Perform technical tasks with appropriate training such as administering a 12- Lead Electrocardiogram test and routine venipuncture.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I or with the applicable state Board of Nursing as a Nurse Aide II
• BLS certification

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
