CNA / Certified Nursing Assistant

About This Role

The Certified Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and assistance with daily living activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role involves monitoring patient data, maintaining a clean environment, and collaborating with the healthcare team to promote positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients in accordance with their individualized care plans
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, oral care, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Assist in transportation and transfer of patients, ensuring comfort and safety during movement
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and other patient data, reporting any abnormalities or concerns to nursing team
• Complete Accuchecks as directed
• Ensure accurate and prompt documentation
• Assist with patient hygiene and comfort measures, including turning and repositioning patients to prevent pressure ulcers
• Support patients with feeding and hydration needs, adhering to dietary restrictions and assisting with mealtime activities
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and promote positive patient outcomes
• Complete hourly rounds to assigned patients, anticipate patient needs, and respond promptly to call lights and patient requests
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, demonstrating empathy and compassion
• Maintain a clean and organized patient environment, including changing bed linens, stocking supplies, ensuring cleanliness of patient rooms, and preparing rooms for admissions and transfers
• Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital policies and procedures
• Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care

Requirements

• Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in DE
• BLS – Basic Life Saving Certification
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Clear Communication Skills Both Written and Verbal
• Able to Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members
• Able to Withstand Crisis Situations
• Has Skills to Provides Customer Service to Patients, Team Members and Visitors
• Knowledge And Experience with Electronic Health Records

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred OR current high school student with CNA license
