The Clinical Nurse II in the Irvine Operating Room uses the nursing process to design, coordinate, and deliver patient care for operative procedures. This role involves acting as a scrub or circulating nurse and serving as a role model for nursing students and new nurses.
Responsibilities
- Design, coordinate, and deliver patient care for patients having operative procedures
- Act as scrub or circulating nurse in various procedures
- Act as a role model to nursing students and new nurses
- Function as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested
Requirements
- Minimum of six months recent nursing experience working in an acute-care perioperative environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation and equipment, and practice of infection control techniques, body mechanics and age related acuity levels
- Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to scrub and circulate in most surgical specialties
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Minimum of six months recent nursing experience working in an acute-care perioperative environment
Nice to Have
- Demonstrated experience working in a Level I Trauma Center
- Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
