This role involves performing accurate and timely laboratory testing in assigned sections, monitoring non-independent practitioners, and maintaining policies and quality control practices. The Lead Clinical Lab Scientist provides management and accreditation support for the laboratory section.
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing in assigned sections
- Monitor technicians and other non-independent practitioners
- Use independent judgment and knowledge
- Maintain policies, procedures, and quality control practices for the assigned section
- Provide management and accreditation support for the section
- Provide a self-directed team approach to a customer-driven service initiative
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved school of medical technology
- State of California Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
- Six years as a registered technologist in an acute care hospital
- Current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients in Geriatric, Adult, Young Adult, Pediatric and Neonatal age groups
Qualifications
- B.S. degree preferred; Graduation from an approved school of medical technology
- Six years as a registered technologist in an acute care hospital
Nice to Have
- B.S. degree
- Advanced certification in section assigned
- ASCP or equivalent (desired)
