About This Role

This role is responsible for overseeing medical assisting staff and related office areas, ensuring efficient patient flow, high customer satisfaction, and achievement of operational goals in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day operations of assigned areas to ensure efficiency, fiscal responsibility, and customer responsiveness.
  • Assist with recruitment, hiring, orientation, training, and coaching of Medical Assistant staff.
  • Ensure efficient scheduling for Medical Assistant staff and manage Time & Attendance.
  • Directly enter medication, laboratory, and radiology orders into the electronic medical record.
  • Evaluate performance of Medical Assistant staff, recommend merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Oversee tasks to optimize workflow and continually improve processes and customer experience.
  • Communicate promptly with leadership, providers, and staff regarding operational issues.
  • Implement inventory control for clinical supplies, immunizations, and medications.
  • Manage immunization and VFC vaccine programs.
  • Manage clinical audits, internal and external, for the office.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 5 years' clinical experience
  • Proficient/knowledgeable in medical terminology
  • Ability to coordinate, direct and supervise the work of others
  • Proficiency in operating a standard desktop and Windows-based computer system
  • Excellent communication skills
  • First Aid
  • CPR
  • Medical Assistant (MA) credential or ability to attain

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent with applicable college coursework or seminars in management and supervision. Prefer Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Management, Healthcare Administration, etc.). Successful completion of accredited/approved MA program and MA Externship, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program, Paramedic program or Certified Athletic Trainer.
  • 5 years’ clinical experience with prior supervisory experience preferred

Nice to Have

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Management or Healthcare Administration
  • Prior supervisory experience
