Civil-Transportation Engineering Intern CM

About This Role

As a Civil-Transportation Engineering Intern, you will apply standard techniques to perform tasks for engineering plans, studies, and reports on small projects or portions of larger projects, under the guidance of a Project Planner/Engineer or Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform data collection in the field
• Execute specific portions of broader assignments given by experienced planners/engineers/inspectors
• Conduct standard computations or basic analysis
• Prepare drawings and visual aids
• Observe construction activities
• Assist in maintaining equipment inventory
• Perform design tasks
• Perform quantity estimates
• Attend project meetings with senior staff
• Write sections of reports
• Execute basic QA/QC tasks and review own work
• Assist at various meetings including public and client meetings

Requirements

• Working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in related discipline such as civil engineering or planning from an ABET/EAC accredited program or an approved equivalent
• Self-motivated and strong work ethic
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or planning from an ABET/EAC accredited program or an approved equivalent (currently working towards)
• Working towards a bachelor's or master's degree in a related discipline
