The Childcare Site Administrator leads the planning, development, and implementation of all activities for a childcare program, ensuring children's social, physical, spiritual, and mental development. This role prioritizes safety and supervises staff to maintain a high-quality program.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, evaluate, and implement all aspects of childcare programs according to YMCA guidelines
- Operate programs within budget guidelines
- Ensure program development, quality, and safety standards are met
- Administer programs in accordance with Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) guidelines
- Cooperate with ODJFS staff for required reports and inspections
- Complete annual inspections with fire department, Department of Health, etc.
- Maintain appropriate adult/child ratios
- Lead site classrooms and assist in other classrooms as needed
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment meeting state and local licensing requirements
- Monitor, train, and evaluate staff appropriately
- Maintain accurate records for childcare programs, facilities, and staff
- Build relationships with members, program participants, and community partners
- Recruit, train, and engage volunteers
- Maintain records and reports for all grant programs
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Associates degree in Early Childhood Education
- Ability to obtain a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or equivalent
- CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen within first 60 days of employment
- 2+ years experience working with children
- 1 year minimum of office administration and customer service
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office and email
Qualifications
- Associates degree in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or university
- 2+ years of experience working with children, 1 year of office administration and customer service, 1 year of supervisory experience (preferred).
Nice to Have
- Planning and program development skills
- 1 year minimum of supervisory experience
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and YMCA Driver Orientation (if performing driving duties)
