About This Role

Provide an outstanding customer experience within the Cheese Shop by offering product knowledge and maintaining a safe, clean, and engaging environment. Assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals by monitoring quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department
• Respond to customer questions and make product suggestions
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
• Inform customers of Cheese Shop specials
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipe
• Prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients in merchandise
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review "sell by" dates
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines

Requirements

• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
• Ability to handle stressful situations

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent

• Comparable Retail experience
