About This Role

A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist provides diverse therapeutic services to individuals using recreation and adapted leisure activities to promote emotional and mental well-being. This role involves assessment, treatment planning, and documentation as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical interventions in various treatment modalities within their scope of practice
• Demonstrate flexibility in working collaboratively with peers and other disciplines within all service areas
• Participate in service-based Quality Improvement initiatives
• Participate in patient assessments and treatment planning as a part of the multidisciplinary team
• Perform related duties, as required

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field from an accredited school
• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist upon hire or within three months of employment
• Completed an internship in a behavioral health setting, or previous work experience in a behavioral health setting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, or related field
