Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, assisting patients with daily living activities and reporting their status on the 4 Main unit during night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal nursing care to patients under the direction of a licensed registered nurse (RN)
- Perform tasks associated with activities of daily living, including assisting with nutrition, hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning devices, restraints, and restorative care
- Perform routine assigned tasks and report patients’ status and concerns to the RN
- Take vital signs including pulse and blood pressure
- Help patients with basic needs, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Perform a variety of clerical duties, including routing patient reports as appropriate
- Use organizational skills to keep the unit running smoothly and prioritization skills to meet deadlines
- Provide assessment data to certified nurse within the scope of practice (vital signs, patient verbal and nonverbal responses)
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
Qualifications
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
Nice to Have
- Phlebotomy Certification (in CA and HI)
- Audiometry and vision training or certificate from CHDP (in CA and HI)
