Certified Nursing Assistant

About This Role

This role will provide essential personal nursing care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse, focusing on daily living activities and routine assigned tasks. The Certified Nursing Assistant will report patient status and concerns to the RN, contributing to comprehensive patient care at Adventist Health.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal nursing care to patients under the direction of a licensed registered nurse (RN)
• Perform tasks associated with activities of daily living, including assisting with nutrition, hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning devices, restraints, and restorative care
• Take vital signs including pulse and blood pressure
• Help patients with basic needs such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
• Perform a variety of clerical duties, including routing patient reports as appropriate
• Use organizational skills to ensure the unit runs smoothly and prioritization skills to meet deadlines
• Provide assessment data to certified nurses within the scope of practice (vital signs, patient verbal and nonverbal responses)

Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred

Nice to Have

• High School Education/GED or equivalent
• Phlebotomy Certification (in CA and HI)
• Audiometry and vision training or certificate from CHDP (in CA and HI)
