Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to seniors in a long-term care setting, working under the supervision of a registered nurse. Ensure residents' physical and psychological needs are met, assisting with personal care, daily activities, and maintaining a positive environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as caregiver to residents in long term care, providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance
- Provide assistance with basic health care needs including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs
- Assist residents in transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct techniques and equipment
- Provide range of motion and passive exercises to residents
- Complete tasks related to food preparation and dining, assisting residents with meals and snacks
- Document resident interactions and outcomes related to care, behavior, activity, and dietary
- Communicate resident's changing condition and care related concerns to the charge nurse
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational
- Provide assistance and documentation with wellness and recreational programs and encourage participation
Requirements
- Minimum age of 16
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of start date by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
