About This Role

Assist physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment, ensuring efficient patient flow and quality care at Texas Oncology. This role supports patients by performing exams, procedures, and various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms.
  • Record patient data including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
  • Obtain necessary patient records prior to treatment or procedures.
  • Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies.
  • Assist physicians with exams and procedures.
  • Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated.
  • Maintain exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
  • Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
  • Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed.
  • Inform physician of patient reschedules and no shows.
  • Perform administrative duties such as typing, filing, faxing, and chart preparation.
  • May enter orders under a provider’s direction and supervision.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Current BCLS certification within 3 months of hire
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Entry level position requiring 0-3 years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.

Nice to Have

  • Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants
  • Phlebotomy experience
