This role involves overseeing contractor work to ensure compliance with construction plans and specifications, primarily focusing on field surveying, construction layout, and inspection tasks. The inspector will interpret technical documents, monitor site operations, and maintain detailed construction documentation.
Responsibilities
- Perform highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout
- Make and check engineering computations
- Inspect construction work and conduct field tests
- Coordinate with and take instructions from senior inspection staff
- Interpret plans and specifications
- Monitor contractor's work for compliance with contract documents
- Document construction including written reports and photos of onsite operations
- Track site quantities including construction math computation
- Verify permit compliance
- Verify materials including taking field samples at required frequencies
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in construction inspection
- 1+ year of bridge and/or roadway construction inspection experience
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted
- Ability to work in rough terrain and varying climates
- Ability to drive
Qualifications
- Minium of two (2) years of experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which includes bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
