This role involves maintaining F/A-18 aircraft electrical generators, systems, and instruments, applying advanced technical knowledge to complex problems, and providing technical guidance to lower-level technicians.
Responsibilities
- Maintain assigned T/M/S aircraft electrical generators, load banks, starters, relays, batteries, actuators, circuit breakers, switches, weapons release and control checks, and aircraft instruments
- Perform as aircraft conventional weapons load team member and leader
- Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems not solvable by referencing manuals
- Determine location and density of circuitry, evaluate electromagnetic radiation, isolate malfunctions, and incorporate engineering changes
- Exercise independent judgment in performing circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow
- Use complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment
- Provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians (Level I or II) and direct specific maintenance actions
- Provide technical support to electronic/structural/mechanical project T/M/S engineers and customers
- Utilize excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet Daily Flight Schedule
- Make entries in aircraft logs and records, attend shift change maintenance meetings, and perform as a QASO
Requirements
- Honorable Discharge from military service
- Minimum 10 years USN/USMC/USCG O-Level CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) aircraft maintenance support experience
- Minimum five years T/M/S aircraft maintenance experience for the T/M/S aircraft hired to maintain
- T/M/S aircraft maintenance experience for the T/M/S aircraft hired to maintain, with the last two years
- Knowledgeable in automatic flight control systems, stabilization systems, weapons integration systems and fuel quantity systems
- Current US secret level clearance and ability to maintain it
- Valid driver's license
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent. Specialized training courses are desirable.
- Minimum 10 years USN/USMC/USCG O-Level CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) aircraft maintenance support experience, with at least 5 years and the last two years on T/M/S aircraft.
