About This Role

Process and post all payment transactions accurately and timely to patient accounts, ensuring proper resolution of unidentified payments while maintaining clear communication and compliance with policies.

Responsibilities

  • Post all payment transactions daily, including batch preparation, scanning, and working editor queues
  • Stay until month-end to ensure all cash department postings are complete
  • Perform calculations, analyze remit codes, and reconcile transfer accounts
  • Complete daily lockbox balancing checklist by designated times
  • Post EDI, EFT, and GL transfer transactions daily
  • Retrieve paper remits from various websites for posting
  • Perform daily quality review of posting transactions
  • Investigate and resolve unidentified payments, ensuring application to appropriate accounts
  • Work payment research worklists daily, prioritizing high-dollar and aged transactions
  • Enter all communications regarding patient accounts into the host system
  • Resolve transfer worklist items daily
  • Contact payors for claim detail for posting PLB's or provider level adjustments
  • Ensure images are in the patient's folder via Onbase Imaging Workflow
  • Escalate posting issues and concerns immediately
  • Provide excellent service to payors, employers, management, and other parties

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
  • 6 Months Experience posting insurance payments from EOBs or RA (remittance advice)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Teams)
  • Computer skills in advanced word processing, spreadsheets, and graphic skills
  • Data entry and 10-key by touch
  • Ability to absorb and retain details
  • Strong Alpha and numeric aptitude skills
