Care Partner - Nursing Assistant - Acute Care - Cardiac Telemetry

About This Role

The Care Partner is a support care provider who functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse within MedSurg-Cardiac Telemetry at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital. The primary focus is to promote a positive patient experience, assist with daily living activities, and provide comfort measures while partnering with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive patient experience by partnering with the nurse, physician, healthcare team and other providers
• Assist with daily living activities and comfort measures
• Perform basic patient care functions including ADL's, ambulation, and vital signs
• Perform approved advanced technical training skills such as phlebotomy, simple treatments, dressing changes, oral suctioning, and discontinuing Foley catheters
• Perform clerical functions such as retrieval of data, maintaining unit supplies, and transporting supplies/patient medications
• Protect rights and dignity of patient and maintain confidentiality adhering to HIPAA regulations
• Participate in hourly patient rounding and answer telephones/call lights promptly
• Resolve patient concerns or escalate to the charge nurse
• Provide patient care under the direction of the RN, including hygiene, nutrition, elimination, and physical comfort measures
• Document completion of patient care in EMR and communicate patient care concerns/problems/emergencies to the RN or Charge Nurse

• Clear verbal and written communication skills, specifically ability to document
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Rising Senior in Good Standing Other or GED Other or Certificate Other

Nice to Have

• Graduation from a State approved program for Certified Nursing Assistants or Patient Care Tech Program
• Cert Nurse Assistant
