Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) Registered Nurse

About This Role

Provide advanced cardiac and critical care nursing to complex cardiovascular patients in a 24-bed ICU. This contract role focuses on specialized skills within a supportive unit, caring for critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring and interventions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in a 24-bed ICU specializing in cardiovascular cases, maintaining patient ratios of 1:2 or better
• Perform complex procedures including rapid sequence intubations, central line and arterial line placements, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertions, and ventilator management
• Manage vasoactive medications and monitor patients on advanced support such as IABP, CRRT, and open-heart recovery
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and optimize patient outcomes
• Utilize EPIC electronic health record system for accurate and timely documentation
• Flexibly support patient care needs by floating to PCU or hospital-wide assignments as needed

Requirements

• Current Utah RN license
• Minimum of 2 years ICU nursing experience; 1 year of strong experience considered
• Proven cardiac nursing expertise with familiarity in advanced ICU interventions
• ACLS certification
• Strong team orientation with excellent communication skills
• Comfortable working night shifts
