About This Role

Serve as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer within the Radiology Department, performing imaging procedures and providing patient care, while operating and maintaining sonography equipment within Texas Health Denton.

Responsibilities

  • Explain procedures to patient or guardian/family member prior to exam
  • Position patient to correct anatomical area of interest
  • Assess and recognize the patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions
  • Prepare room for examination (i.e., suction, oxygen, supplies)
  • Adjust technical factors for equipment
  • Operate, care for and maintain sonography equipment
  • Maintain and enhance technical skills and technology advancement
  • Perform assignments deemed necessary by supervisor

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer upon hire
  • RCS - Registered Cardiac Sonographer upon hire
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required, Associate's Degree Graduate of an accredited school of ultrasound technology preferred
  • 1 year experience preferably in a hospital setting, pediatric echo experience preferred

Nice to Have

  • Associate's Degree Graduate of an accredited school of ultrasound technology
  • 1 year experience preferably in a hospital setting
  • Pediatric echo experience
