Support commercial cabling projects in New York City by installing, terminating, and testing CAT5/CAT6 network cabling and related infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety.
Responsibilities
- Pull, route, terminate, and label CAT5/CAT6 network cabling
- Perform terminations on patch panels, jacks, and RJ45 connectors
- Test and certify installed cables in accordance with industry and company standards
- Install various cable support structures including cable racks, J‑hooks, innerduct, ladder racks, and related pathways and hardware
- Read and interpret cabling layouts, floor plans, and documentation
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments on job sites
Requirements
- 1-3+ years of structured cabling or low-voltage installation experience
- Strong understanding of CAT5/CAT6 network cabling
- Ability to perform copper terminations and cable testing
- Experience working in commercial environments (offices, data centers, construction sites)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders/scissor lifts as needed
- Reliable transportation to travel to NYC job sites
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Qualifications
- 1–3+ years of structured cabling or low-voltage installation experience
Nice to Have
- Experience with additional low-voltage systems (security, access control, CCTV, fiber)
- Familiarity with Fluke or similar cable certification tools
