About This Role

This role supports servers in a restaurant setting by maintaining a tidy dining area, proactively addressing guest requirements, and ensuring a smooth dining experience. The Busser contributes to a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel valued and comfortable.

Responsibilities

• Support servers by maintaining a clean, organized, and fully prepared dining room throughout service
• Reset tables quickly and accurately to ensure a seamless transition between guests
• Monitor guest needs and assist with water service, clearing plates, and delivering items as requested
• Maintain cleanliness and polish of service areas, including tables, chairs, floors, and service stations
• Communicate clearly with servers, hosts, and managers to support smooth, efficient service
• Assist in stocking and replenishing service items such as glassware, silverware, linens, and polished plateware
• Follow all opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures to ensure readiness and a clean, orderly environment
• Uphold Vandelay’s hospitality standards by contributing to an atmosphere where every guest feels welcome, comfortable, and cared for
• Execute opening, mid-shift, closing, and side-work procedures to ensure the host stand and entry area remain organized, polished, and fully prepared for service

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Certification for food handling as required by state and local regulations

Nice to Have

• Experience in an upscale, full-service restaurant
