Building Mechanic I

About This Role

Assist in the maintenance and repair of university buildings and facilities, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and life safety systems, to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the maintenance and repair of Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Conveyance, and Life Safety systems associated with University buildings and other facilities
• Assist in the repair and maintenance of Building exteriors and interiors, including, but not limited to, roofs, windows, doors and flooring
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Assist other personnel in the performance of repair and maintenance tasks as needed
• Maintain assigned tools and equipment
• Perform related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a high school level
• Sufficient experience to understand basic building maintenance principles
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Oklahoma

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent
• 1-2 years of experience or completion of an apprenticeship/internship in basic building maintenance principles
