Biltmore House Facility Services II

About This Role

The Facility Services Staff is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of Biltmore House, Antler Hill Village, and other estate buildings, potentially including light maintenance and emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Dust, mop, wet mop, and buff all wood/tile/linoleum/concrete/marble floors
• Vacuum/shampoo carpets and steps
• Change light bulbs inside and outside
• Clean restrooms with a high degree of cleanliness and detail to Biltmore standards
• Assist with special events, functions, and projects
• Respond to power/water outages for report, or as an assistant to management
• Snow removal and storm cleanup
• Emergency clean up (bodily fluids)
• Dust offices and gift shops
• Perform very minor maintenance work orders as assigned by management
• Store, organize and maintain proper supplies and supply rooms

Requirements

• High school diploma (or GED)
• At least one (1) year of previous custodial/janitorial and/or maintenance experience
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Commitment to world-class guest service
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to safely operate commercial cleaning equipment
• Ability to read and comprehend material safety data (MSD) sheets
• Ability to be proactive and take initiative
• Ability to exercise good judgment
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under deadlines
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be at least 19 years of age

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or GED)
• At least one (1) year of previous custodial/janitorial and/or maintenance experience, preferably in a guest service, attraction, or hotel/resort environment
