Behavioral Health Technician

About This Role

This role is responsible for monitoring the safety, security, and sobriety of clients in mental health treatment, ensuring their adherence to daily schedules and treatment plans. This position also involves transporting clients and assisting clinical staff in implementing behavioral interventions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and direct the daily schedule of clients, ensuring punctuality for treatment and activities
• Transport clients to and from the treatment facility using Victory Bay transport vehicles, complying with driving guidelines
• Work alongside clinical staff to aid in the implementation of treatment plan goals
• Assist in the implementation of specific behavioral interventions such as coping skills and emotional regulation
• Foster a compassionate and accountable environment for clients
• Monitor clients and record observations in shift notes, reporting on progress and concerns
• Anticipate and respond to client needs, including crisis intervention and de-escalation
• Monitor clients for intoxication/drug use, administering Urine Analysis and breathalyzers as scheduled
• Conduct searches of clients at intake and assist with intake paperwork
• Manage and defuse conflict between clients impartially and respectfully

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-4 years' experience working in a Mental Health Treatment Facility
• Valid driver license

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with specialized mental health training or experience. Bachelor’s degree in Mental Health area preferred.
• 2-4 years' experience working in a Mental Health Treatment Facility.
