Behavioral Health Specialist

About This Role

This role provides supportive services to individuals with serious mental illness, guiding them in their mental health recovery and fostering skills for independent living within a structured, therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to all developmental populations
• Maintain milieu and patient safety
• Provide skill building and psycho educational groups daily
• Observe patient behavior and complete pertinent documentation
• Assist the multidisciplinary team with placement and discharge planning
• Assist with treatment and linkage to community resources
• Provide crisis intervention
• Coordinate with the team to achieve quality and cost effective patient outcomes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, human services or related field
• 1 year of relevant experience
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a psychology, human services or related field
• 1 year of experience, other relevant experience will be considered
