Bakery/Deli Clerk

About This Role

The Bakery/Deli Clerk will create an outstanding customer experience by preparing items, offering samples, and informing customers of specials. This role involves maintaining a safe and clean environment while assisting the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
• Offer product samples and inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
• Use all bakery equipment according to company guidelines
• Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and cooking instructions
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes
• Adequately prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
• Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action
• Properly use kitchen equipment such as stove, computerized scale, fryer, steamer, and robot coupe
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise

Requirements

• Customer service skills
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math
