Bakery/Deli Clerk

About This Role

Provide exceptional customer service in the bakery and deli departments, preparing items, offering samples, and ensuring food quality and safety while maintaining a clean environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bakery/deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes
• Recommend deli or bakery items to customers
• Use all bakery equipment according to company guidelines
• Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and cooking instructions
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipe
• Properly prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients in merchandise
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review "sell by" dates

Requirements

• Customer Service skills
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math
• Ability to obtain current food handlers permit

Nice to Have

• Bakery or Deli experience
• Retail experience
