Avaya UC Engineer

About This Role

Implement and support Avaya Aura software, including Communication Manager and System/Session Manager, with a focus on upgrades, migrations, and integration with third-party applications. This role ensures timely project delivery and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform software translations for Avaya’s Communications Manager Application, including system trunk assignment, phone set feature activation, dial plans, and voicemail subscriber assignment
• Configure translations to Communication Manager, Session Manager, AES, and 3rd application integrations
• Perform upgrades of Communication Manager, Media Gateways, and Media Servers to current releases
• Perform failover configuration and facilitate testing based on client requirements
• Provide cutover support as needed and assist in troubleshooting translation problems
• Maintain detailed records of emails and conversations related to work performed on each project

Requirements

• 5+ years of software design experience or education equivalent
• VoIP software design and implementation experience
• Knowledge of Definity/CM products and VM systems
• Knowledge of CC applications and solutions
• Advanced knowledge of messaging products (i.e., CMM, MM, AAM)
• Proficient at Provision administration
• Solid understanding of network design including T-1, ISDN and messaging
• Solid understanding of the basics of DCS and QSIG
• Solid understanding of data products and data infrastructure design
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and communications skills

Qualifications

• 2-Year College degree in data networking or equivalent industry experience
• Five or more years of software design experience or education equivalent

Nice to Have

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and PowerPoint
• ACIS certification
• ACSS certification
