Automotive Salesperson

About This Role

Sell vehicles and achieve dealership gross profit, volume, and customer satisfaction standards by focusing on personal work habits, prospecting, selling, and customer follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Guarantee customer satisfaction
• Determine each customer’s vehicle needs by asking questions and listening
• Demonstrate vehicles including test drives
• Deliver vehicles to customers, ensuring understanding of operating features, warranty, and paperwork
• Establish personal income goals consistent with dealership standards
• Report to the vehicle Sales Manager regarding objectives and activities
• Keep abreast of incoming inventory, features, and accessories
• Work with service and body shop departments to ensure vehicles are reconditioned
• Attend sales meetings and manufacturer training
• Maintain a prospect development and owner follow-up system
• Review and analyze actions to better utilize time and plan effectively
• Understand automotive terminology, technological changes, equity, values, and depreciation
• Know federal, state, and local laws governing retail auto sales
• Introduce customers to service department personnel
• Follow company safety policies and procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma or the equivalent
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
• Valid in-state driver’s license
• Professional personal appearance
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to sell a minimum quota according to dealership standards
• Authorized to work in the USA
• Ability to perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing including background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report
