Automotive Detailer

About This Role

The Automotive Detailer will meticulously clean, detail, and prepare vehicles for auction to enhance their appearance and appeal to potential buyers. This role is crucial for maintaining Copart's high standards of presentation and quality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for auction by washing, waxing, buffing, and vacuuming interiors and exteriors to restore appearance and cleanliness.
• Clean and sanitize vehicle interiors, including upholstery, carpets, dashboards, and windows, using appropriate cleaning products and techniques.
• Wash and polish vehicle exteriors to remove dirt, grime, and debris, restoring shine and luster to paint surfaces.
• Perform paint correction and touch-up services to address minor imperfections, scratches, and blemishes.
• Perform additional detailing services such as engine bay cleaning, wheel and tire cleaning, and trim restoration.
• Conduct thorough inspections of completed work to ensure vehicles meet Copart's standards for cleanliness and presentation.
• Coordinate with other team members (Vehicle Inspectors, Photographers, Auction Coordinators) to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient workflow.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures for a safe working environment, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and PPE adherence.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of automotive cleaning products, equipment, and techniques
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering excellence
• Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing
• Effective communication skills with ability to work collaboratively

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience in automotive detailing, car washing, or related work preferred
