Audit Manager - Government Sector

About This Role

Lead and manage audit engagements for governmental entities within the government sector for a Top 10 CPA Firm. This role requires strong expertise in governmental accounting standards and three days per week in-office in either Coral Gables or Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Responsibilities

• Lead audits of governmental entities including financial statement audits, single audits, and compliance audits
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, demonstrating knowledge of GASB, GAAP, GAAS, Government Auditing Standards, and Uniform Guidance
• Oversee engagement deliverables and ensure quality control standards are met
• Supervise, train, and mentor staff while fostering a collaborative team environment
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, and proposal development
• Manage multiple client relationships and special projects
• Develop and monitor engagement budgets, billing, and realization
• Support practice development and cross-service opportunities
• Consistently meet charge hour goals and contribute to firm growth

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA certification
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in public accounting or related field
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience
• Strong technical proficiency and ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels
• Proficiency with relevant audit software and technology platforms
• Willingness to relocate to Coral Gables, FL or Fort Lauderdale, FL

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in public accounting or related field, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience
