This role will support Regional Sales Managers by providing technical expertise, coaching, and training to advance sales opportunities in municipal and industrial accounts. It is critical for deploying corporate strategies and increasing sales team productivity.
Responsibilities
- Engage frequently with Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) to develop and enhance technical aptitude of Hach’s products and related applications.
- Train and mentor RSMs to achieve technical competency related to strategic initiatives.
- Assist RSMs with qualifying, advancing, and closing strategic and/or complex sales opportunities while developing seller’s competency.
- Perform site evaluations to uncover unmet needs and drive funnel growth at target accounts.
- Drive growth of lab, process equipment, and service sales in support of strategic solutions strategy.
- Lead the deployment of sales productivity programs and sales tools.
- Train and onboard new RSMs to rapidly assimilate new associates.
- Collaborate with new product commercialization teams to ensure rapid deployment of technical and commercial content to the field.
- Act as Voice of Sales (VOS) with Product Management, Marketing, Technical Support, Training, and Service departments.
- Gather information on competitors, market trends, strategic opportunities, and risks.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Hach’s primary applications in municipal drinking water and wastewater.
- Detailed understanding of Hach’s sophisticated instrumentation, controls, software products, and service solutions.
- 5+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles (technical support, direct sales, or service).
Qualifications
- BA, BS, or MS degree required. A degree in a commercial or science related field such as Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or equivalent is preferred
- 5+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles such as, but not limited to, technical support, direct sales or service is required.
