Associate Attorney

About This Role

This role will serve as an associate attorney specializing in medical malpractice defense, offering direct client exposure and involvement in case strategy and trial preparation.

Responsibilities

• Act as second chair on healthcare/professional liability cases, including trial prep and trial
• Manage assigned cases from intake through resolution
• Draft and respond to written discovery, including objections
• Prepare motions, responses, replies, and pretrial filings
• Conduct case evaluations, status updates, and strategy recommendations
• Prepare clients for depositions and trial and communicate directly with them
• Assist with and, when appropriate, take and defend depositions
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on litigation strategy

Requirements

• 3+ years of civil litigation experience
• Active Texas bar license, in good standing

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school
• 3+ years of civil litigation experience

Nice to Have

• Experience in healthcare, professional liability, or complex defense matters
• Prior second-chair trial experience (or equivalent hands-on trial involvement)
• Strong legal writing and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters with minimal oversight
