About This Role

The Assistant Nurse Manager, a Registered Nurse (RN), oversees patient care, clinical staff, and unit operations in the Neuro-Surgical ICU, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective patient-centered care. This role involves supervising daily operations, managing resources, and fostering professional development.

Responsibilities

• Supervise patient care, clinical personnel, and unit operations in the Neuro-Surgical ICU
• Oversee daily operations of the assigned department, including off-shift and weekend supervision of nursing and non-licensed staff
• Manage resources, quality improvement initiatives, and payroll
• Create and maintain colleague schedules and monitor patient throughput for efficient clinical operations
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic unit environment, including working as a staff RN as needed
• Support leadership in ensuring standards of excellence and professional development are met
• Participate in and lead Performance Improvement work within the department

Requirements

• Current Connecticut RN License
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN Required)
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification
• Proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to date of hire
• Minimum 2 years of Acute Care RN experience

Qualifications

• BSN Required; MSN Preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Acute Care RN experience required, with 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
