Lead daily operations of a large distribution center, overseeing safety, employee engagement, talent development, production performance, and staffing. Partner with the General Manager to drive results and foster a high-performing culture.
Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager in providing leadership, communication, managing logistics, and creating effective teamwork throughout the Distribution Center
- Help establish, reinforce, track, and measure safety, quality, and performance goals for the Distribution Center
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in cooperation with the leadership team
- Support in maintaining the physical condition of the Distribution Center, grounds, and material handling equipment
- Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures
- Communicate with other department personnel to ensure coordination of Distribution Center activities with activities of other functions
- Assume full responsibility in the absence of the Distribution Manager
- Lead and mentor salaried and hourly leaders
- Lead staffing, production planning, CI, and key initiatives
- Lead changes and pivots throughout the day to ensure daily success
Requirements
- 3-5 years prior supervisory experience in operations/distribution
- Bachelor’s degree
- Advanced to Intermediate skills in MS Office Products
- Experience with labor management systems (i.e, Easy Metrics, TZA)
- Experience with payroll systems (i.e. Workday)
- WMS proficiency (i.e. Oracle, SAP, Blue Yonder)
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment with autonomy and ambiguity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective team building skills and a proven track record of success
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years prior supervisory experience in operations/distribution
