Assistant Dietary Manager

About This Role

The Assistant Dietary Manager will help plan, organize, and develop the dietary department's operations, ensuring quality nutritional services and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation within state, federal, and local standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, developing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the Culinary Department, its programs, policies, and activities
• Work with the dietitian to provide quality nutritional services
• Process diet changes and new diets as received from nursing services
• Ensure appropriate levels of food supplies are available
• Order supplies in a cost-effective and cost-efficient manner
• Ensure equipment is maintained appropriately and order replacement equipment as necessary
• Assist in the supervision of culinary service personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating performance

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of related experience in a food service department
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide culinary services appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents
• Knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures as well the laws, regulations and guidelines governing dietary functions in nursing care facilities
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with residents, families, physicians, and staff
• Good leadership skills
• Good computer skills
• Excellent customer service skills

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of related experience in a food service department; experience in a long term or health care facility preferred
