About This Role

Protect critical infrastructure as an Armed Security Officer, ensuring safety and security at a military base in Whitmore Lake, MI. Control access, patrol the grounds, and provide excellent customer service to clients, residents, and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Protect the site's building, grounds, assets, employees, tenants and visitors against criminal activity, accidents, and fires
  • Control access to the facility at all entry/exit points
  • Perform vehicle patrols around the grounds
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients, resident families, residents, Visitors, Staff, Executives, and Co-Workers
  • Monitor CCTV for safety and security concerns
  • Patrol the interior and exterior of buildings on foot
  • Monitor fire alarms for accurate functionality
  • Observe and report activities and incidents at assigned client locations
  • Guard posts including building lobbies, gates, reception areas, and control centers
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for all and enforce policies and procedures
  • Respond to emergency situations

Requirements

  • Must have a current, valid Concealed Pistol License (CPL) or be LEOSA certified
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass a drug screening (including for marijuana) and thereafter randomly
  • No felony convictions
  • No misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including marijuana), or two or more alcohol related offenses
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk, including up and down stairs, for 8-12 hours at a time
  • Ability to see clearly at least 20 feet away (assisted if necessary)
  • Ability to hear conversations in loud environments in-person or via radio
  • Ability to use a smart mobile phone or computer to check emails and complete online training
  • Fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education certification, such as a GED

  • Experience in firefighting, department of corrections, or law enforcement

Certifications

Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL) (Required)
